Overview[edit]
Obesity is a growing health concern worldwide, and Timor-Leste is no exception. Despite having a relatively low obesity rate compared to other countries, the issue is still significant. The adult obesity rate is a measure of the percentage of adults in a country who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher.
Healthcare in Timor-Leste[edit]
Healthcare in Timor-Leste is primarily provided by the Ministry of Health, with support from various international organizations. The country has made significant strides in improving healthcare access and quality in recent years, but challenges remain, particularly in rural areas.
Weight Loss Facilities[edit]
While there are no specific weight loss facilities in Timor-Leste, the Guido Valadares National Hospital in Dili, the capital city, offers nutritional counseling and other services that can assist individuals in managing their weight. Additionally, several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) provide health education and promotion programs, which often include information on nutrition and physical activity.
