Cambodia (kæmˈboʊdiə)
Cambodia, officially known as the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia.
Etymology
The English name "Cambodia" is an anglicisation of the French "Cambodge", which in turn is the French transliteration of the Khmer "កម្ពុជា" (Kampuchea). The word Kampuchea is derived from the Sanskrit Kambujadeśa (कम्बोजदेश), or Kambuja, which was the ancient name of the country.
