Bhutan (pronunciation: /buːˈtɑːn/), officially known as the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country in South Asia.
Etymology
The precise etymology of "Bhutan" is unknown, although it is likely derived from the Sanskrit "Bhotanta" meaning "the end of Tibet" or from "Bhu-uttan" meaning "highlands".
Geography
Located in the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan is bordered by Tibet Autonomous Region of China in the north, and India in the south, east and west. It is the world's second least populated country after the Maldives.
