Zimbabwe (/zɪmˈbɑːbweɪ, -wi/), officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, is a landlocked country located in southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique.
Etymology
The name "Zimbabwe" is derived from the Shona term "dzimba dza mabwe", meaning "house of stones". The name is a reference to the stone structures of the Great Zimbabwe monument, an ancient city in the country's south-east.
