Saudi Arabia (pronunciation: /ˌsɔːdi əˈreɪbiə/), officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a country located in the Middle East, on the Arabian Peninsula.
Etymology
The term "Saudi" is derived from the name of the ruling royal family, the Al Saud, and "Arabia" refers to the Arabian Peninsula where the country is located.
Geography
Saudi Arabia is bordered by Jordan and Iraq to the north, Kuwait to the northeast, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, and Yemen to the south. It is separated from Israel and Egypt by the Gulf of Aqaba. It is the only nation with both a Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast.
Health Care in Saudi Arabia
The health care system in Saudi Arabia can be classified as a national health care system, in which the government provides health care services through a number of government agencies. In the meantime, there is a growing role and increased participation from the private sector in the provision of health care services.
