Etymology
The name Dominica comes from the Latin word Dominus, meaning "Lord". It was named by Christopher Columbus who landed on the island on a Sunday, which is Dies Dominica in Latin, meaning "Day of the Lord".
Geography
Dominica is located in the Eastern Caribbean, between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. It is known as the "Nature Island of the Caribbean" due to its lush scenery and diverse flora and fauna.
