Rwanda (pronounced /ruːˈɑːndə, -ˈæn-/), officially the Republic of Rwanda (Kinyarwanda: Repubulika y'u Rwanda; Swahili: Jamhuri ya Rwanda; French: République du Rwanda), is a landlocked country in the Great Rift Valley where the African Great Lakes region and East Africa converge.
Etymology
The name "Rwanda" is derived from the Rwanda-Rundi word rwanda meaning "domain" or "kingdom".
