Faslodex - (pronounced) (FAZ-loh-dex) A drug used to treat certain types of breast cancer. It is used alone or with ribociclib succinate in postmenopausal women who have not received hormone therapy or whose disease has gotten worse after hormone therapy. It is also used with palbociclib or abemaciclib in women whose disease has got worse after treatment with hormone therapy. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Faslodex attaches to proteins called estrogen receptors that are found in some breast cancer cells. These proteins can cause cancer cells to grow. Faslodex blocks these proteins and can prevent cancer cells from growing. It's kind of an anti-estrogen. Also called fulvestrant and ICI 182780
