Estromustine
Estromustine is a type of chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It is a combination of two drugs, estrogen and alkylating agent, which work together to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.
Mechanism of Action[edit]
Estromustine works by disrupting the function of cancer cells. The estrogen component of the drug binds to estrogen receptors on the cancer cells, inhibiting their growth and division. The alkylating agent component of the drug damages the DNA of the cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and growing.
