Testing (pronunciation: /ˈtɛstɪŋ/) is a process or procedure intended to evaluate, measure, or assess the quality, performance, or reliability of something, especially before it is taken into widespread use.
Etymology
The term "testing" originates from the Old French word tester which means "to test or to try", and it was later adopted into Middle English.
