Xenoestrogens are a type of synthetic estrogens, (xeno meaning foreign) or “foreign estrogens” that are industrially made compounds. Although they differ in their chemical structure from naturally occurring estrogens, they act like estrogen in the body of both women and men. Unlike the phytoestrogens, evidence suggests that xenoestrogens are harmful to human health.
