Orange County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 37,526. The county seat is the town of Orange.
History
Orange County was established in 1734 from a portion of Spotsylvania County. It was named after William of Orange, who was the King of England at the time. The county has a rich history, including its role in the American Civil War, where it was the site of several significant battles.
Geography
Orange County is located in the central part of Virginia. According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 343 square miles, of which 341 square miles is land and 2 square miles is water.
