Middle Peninsula

The Middle Peninsula is a region in the eastern part of the Commonwealth of Virginia, located between the Rappahannock River to the north and the York River to the south. It is one of three peninsulas on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, the others being the Northern Neck and the Virginia Peninsula.

The Middle Peninsula has a rich history dating back to the early colonial period. It was originally inhabited by various Native American tribes, including the Powhatan Confederacy. European settlers arrived in the early 17th century, establishing plantations and small towns.

Additionally, tourism plays a significant role, with visitors attracted to its historic sites, natural beauty, and outdoor recreational opportunities.
