Columbia County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 57,810. Its county seat and largest city is Portage. The county was created in 1846 and named after Christopher Columbus.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 796 square miles (2,060 km²), of which 766 square miles (1,980 km²) is land and 30 square miles (78 km²) (3.8%) is water.
