St. Croix County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 90,687. The county seat is Hudson, which is also the largest city within the county. St. Croix County is part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, commonly known as the Twin Cities region.
History
St. Croix County was founded in 1840 and named after the St. Croix River, which forms part of the boundary between Wisconsin and Minnesota. The area was originally inhabited by Native American tribes, and it became significant for fur trading and lumber industries in the 19th century.
Geography
