Langlade County, Wisconsin
Langlade County, Wisconsin is a county located in the state of Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 19,491. The county seat is Antigo. The county was created in 1879 and organized in 1880. It is named after Charles de Langlade, a French-Canadian fur trader and military leader.
Geography
Langlade County is situated in the northern part of Wisconsin. According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 888 square miles (2,300 km²), of which 871 square miles (2,260 km²) is land and 17 square miles (44 km²) (1.9%) is water.

Demographics
As of the 2020 census, there were 19,491 people, 8,500 households, and 5,200 families residing in the county. The population density was 22.4 people per square mile (8.6/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 95.6% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 1.0% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 2.6% from two or more races. 1.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Economy
The economy of Langlade County is diverse, with significant contributions from agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. The county is known for its potato production and dairy farming. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and numerous lakes and rivers make it a popular destination for outdoor recreation, including fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
Education
Langlade County is served by several school districts, including the Antigo Unified School District. Higher education is provided by Northcentral Technical College.
