Dunn County is a county located in the western part of the state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 45,268. Its county seat is Menomonie. The county was founded in 1854 and named for Charles Dunn, the first chief justice of the Wisconsin Territory.
Geography
Dunn County covers a total area of 864 square miles, of which 850 square miles is land and 14 square miles is water. The county is part of the Driftless Area, a region that was not glaciated during the last ice age, resulting in a landscape of rolling hills and valleys.

As of the 2020 census, there were 45,268 people, 17,000 households, and 10,000 families residing in the county. The population density was 53 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was predominantly White, with small percentages of African American, Native American, Asian, and other races.
