Methandriol
Methandriol is an anabolic steroid that is used in medicine to treat a variety of conditions. It is also known by its chemical name, 17α-methylandrostenediol.
History
Methandriol was first described in the scientific literature in the 1930s. It was developed as a therapeutic agent by the pharmaceutical company Organon. The drug was initially used to treat conditions such as osteoporosis, breast cancer, and delayed puberty.
Medical uses
Methandriol is used in medicine for its anabolic effects, which include the promotion of muscle growth and the stimulation of appetite. It is also used to treat conditions such as osteoporosis, breast cancer, and delayed puberty. In addition, methandriol has been used to treat endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus.
Side effects
Like other anabolic steroids, methandriol can have a number of side effects. These can include acne, hair loss, and gynecomastia (the development of breast tissue in men). In addition, methandriol can have more serious side effects, such as liver damage and cardiovascular disease.
Legal status
In many countries, including the United States, methandriol is classified as a controlled substance. This means that it is illegal to possess, use, or distribute the drug without a prescription.
