The iPhone 3G is a smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc.. It is the second generation of the iPhone and was introduced on July 11, 2008. The iPhone 3G combined quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS with HSDPA support, providing faster data speeds compared to its predecessor, the original iPhone.

Design and Hardware

The iPhone 3G features a 3.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 320×480 pixels. It has a capacitive touchscreen that supports multi-touch gestures. The device is powered by a 412 MHz ARM11 CPU and includes a PowerVR MBX Lite GPU. It comes with 128 MB of DRAM and is available in 8 GB and 16 GB storage options.

The rear camera is a 2.0 megapixel sensor, and the device does not include a front camera. The iPhone 3G also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and A-GPS for location services. The battery is a 1150 mAh lithium-ion unit.
