MacBook Air
MacBook Air is a line of laptop computers developed and manufactured by Apple Inc.. It consists of a full-size keyboard, a machined aluminum case, and a thin light structure. The MacBook Air was introduced by Steve Jobs at the Macworld Conference & Expo in January 2008. The MacBook Air has been continuously produced since 2008 and is currently in its fourth generation.
History[edit]
The first generation of MacBook Air was a 13.3"-only model, initially promoted as the world's thinnest notebook. It was introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 15, 2008. The MacBook Air was the first subcompact laptop offered by Apple since the full-featured 12" PowerBook G4 was discontinued in 2006.
Design[edit]
The MacBook Air features an anti-glare LED backlit display and a full-size keyboard, as well as a large trackpad that responds to multi-touch gestures such as pinching, swiping, and rotating. With the release of macOS Sierra, the MacBook Air now supports Siri, Apple's virtual assistant.
Hardware[edit]
The MacBook Air is available with an 11.6-inch (29.46 cm) and 13.3-inch (33.78 cm) display. The MacBook Air was updated with faster processors, more storage, and a higher-resolution FaceTime camera in 2020.
Software[edit]
The MacBook Air comes preloaded with macOS, Apple's proprietary operating system. It also comes with a suite of applications for productivity and creativity, including iLife, iWork, and GarageBand.
Reception[edit]
The MacBook Air has generally been well received by critics for its performance, battery life, and thin and light design.
