Blue Bell is a census-designated place (CDP) in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located approximately 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

History

Blue Bell was originally known as Pigeontown, named after the large flocks of passenger pigeons that once gathered there. The community was renamed in 1840 after the Blue Bell Inn, a historic inn that is still in operation today.
