Telford, Pennsylvania
Telford, Pennsylvania is a borough located in both Bucks County and Montgomery County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The borough is part of the North Penn Valley, a region that includes several other municipalities in the area.
History
Telford was originally known as County Line, due to its location on the boundary between Bucks and Montgomery counties. The name was changed to Telford in 1857, in honor of the civil engineer Thomas Telford, who was known for his work on the Ellesmere Canal and other infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom.
Geography
Telford is situated at coordinates 40°19′29″N 75°19′45″W. The borough covers a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km²), all of which is land. The area is characterized by its suburban residential neighborhoods and small-town atmosphere.
Demographics
As of the 2010 Census, Telford had a population of 4,872. The population density was 4,872 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the borough was predominantly White, with smaller percentages of African American, Asian, and other races. The borough also has a notable Hispanic community.

The borough is part of the larger North Penn School District, which is one of the major employers in the area.
