Colmar, Pennsylvania

Colmar, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area and is situated approximately 30 miles north of the city of Philadelphia.

History

Colmar was originally a small farming community, which began to develop with the arrival of the North Pennsylvania Railroad in the mid-19th century. The railroad provided a means for goods to be transported to and from Philadelphia, leading to growth in the local economy and population.

Geography

Colmar is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania. It is bordered by the towns of Hatfield, Lansdale, and Line Lexington. The Neshaminy Creek runs through the eastern part of the town, providing a natural water source and contributing to the area's scenic beauty.

Demographics

As of the 2010 United States Census, Colmar had a population of approximately 1,500 residents. The population is diverse, with a mix of different ethnicities and age groups.

Economy
