Spring Mount, Pennsylvania

Spring Mount, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, and is situated in the Perkiomen Valley region. The community is known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities, particularly the Spring Mountain Ski Area.

Geography

Spring Mount is located at 40°16′14″N 75°27′58″W. The CDP has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²), all of it land. It is bordered by the Perkiomen Creek to the east and the Schwenksville borough to the north.

Demographics

As of the 2010 United States Census, the population of Spring Mount was 2,259. The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.7% White, 3.2% African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.8% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.8% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.6% of the population.

Education

Spring Mount is served by the Perkiomen Valley School District. The district operates four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The district's mission is to provide a rich, meaningful education that empowers students to reach their potential.

Recreation

The Spring Mountain Ski Area is a popular recreational spot in Spring Mount. It offers skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing during the winter months, and zip-lining, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities during the summer months.
