Conshohocken is a borough on the Schuylkill River in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in suburban Philadelphia. The name "Conshohocken" is of Lenape origin, from either "kanshihakink" meaning "Elegant-ground-place" or "chottschinschu'hak'ing" meaning "Big-trough-ground-place".

History

Conshohocken was originally settled by Lenape Native Americans and later by European colonists. The area was known for its iron and steel industries during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The borough was incorporated in 1850.
