Ondansetron hydrochloride - (pronounced) (on-DAN-seh-tron HY-droh-KLOR-ide) drug used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as nausea and vomiting after surgery. Ondansetron hydrochloride blocks the effects of a chemical called serotonin, which attaches to certain nerves and can cause nausea and vomiting.
