IOS 14
iOS 14 is the fourteenth major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 22, 2020, and was released to the public on September 16, 2020. iOS 14 introduced several new features and improvements over its predecessor, iOS 13.

Home Screen[edit]
iOS 14 introduced a redesigned Home Screen with the addition of widgets. Widgets can be placed among the app icons and come in different sizes. The App Library is another new feature that automatically organizes apps into categories and provides a new way to access them.
App Clips[edit]
App Clips are a new feature that allows users to use a small part of an app without downloading the full application. They are designed to be fast and lightweight, providing a quick way to perform specific tasks.
Messages[edit]
The Messages app received several updates, including the ability to pin conversations, mention individuals in group chats, and set group photos. Inline replies were also introduced, allowing users to respond directly to specific messages within a conversation.
Privacy[edit]
iOS 14 includes new privacy features, such as indicators that show when an app is using the device's camera or microphone. Users can also choose to share their approximate location with apps instead of their exact location.
Translate[edit]
The new Translate app allows users to translate text and speech between several languages. It works offline and supports conversation mode for real-time translation.
Safari[edit]
The Safari browser in iOS 14 includes a new Privacy Report feature that shows how websites track users. It also supports WebExtensions and includes performance improvements.
Maps[edit]
Apple Maps received updates including cycling directions, electric vehicle routing, and curated guides for exploring cities.
CarPlay[edit]
CarPlay in iOS 14 supports new wallpaper options and additional app categories, including parking, EV charging, and quick food ordering.
Compatibility[edit]
iOS 14 is compatible with the same devices that supported iOS 13, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (1st generation), and later models.
