Hong Kong (hɒŋ kɒŋ)
Hong Kong, officially known as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR), is a city and special administrative region on the eastern side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China.
Etymology
The name "Hong Kong" is an approximate phonetic rendering of the pronunciation in spoken Cantonese of the spoken Cantonese or Hakka name 香港, meaning "Fragrant Harbour". In 1842, the Treaty of Nanking was signed, and the name Hong Kong was first recorded on official documents to encompass the entirety of the island.

The Health Care System in Hong Kong is primarily funded by the government and is delivered through 42 public hospitals, managed by the Hospital Authority. The city also has a thriving private healthcare sector.
