Etiology
In Greek, klazo means 'to scream'
Clinical features
Klazomania is described as attacks of compulsive shouting that happens in many neurological conditions including postencephalitic Parkinsonian syndrome, chronic epidemic encephalitis<ref>Wohlfart G, Ingvar DH, Hellberg AM. Compulsory shouting (Benedek's "klazomania") associated with oculogyric spasms in chronic epidemic encephalitis. Acta Psychiatr Scand. 1961;36(2):369-77. doi: 10.1111/j.1600-0447.1961.tb01051.x. Diagnosis
Diagnosis is through a thorough history, physical examination, by a neurologist or other well trained physician. Witnessing an episode can be helpful for the provider but is not required to make a proper differential diagnosis.
Treatment
