Lyman County is a county located in the state of South Dakota, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,718. The county seat is Kennebec. The county was created in 1873 and organized in 1893. It is named after W.P. Lyman, a legislator.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,707 square miles (4,420 km²), of which 1,639 square miles (4,245 km²) is land and 68 square miles (176 km²) (4.0%) is water.
