Grant County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. Established in 1873, it was named in honor of Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States. The county seat and largest city is Milbank.
Geography[edit]
Grant County is situated in the northeastern part of South Dakota and borders the state of Minnesota to the east. The terrain of Grant County consists of rolling hills, dotted with numerous lakes and streams. Big Stone Lake on the eastern boundary is one of the prominent features of the county's geography.

The economy of Grant County is primarily based on agriculture, including the cultivation of crops such as corn and soybeans, and livestock breeding. The county also benefits from its proximity to Big Stone Lake, which supports local tourism and recreational activities.
