Diagnosis

Diagnosis is through a thorough history, physical examination, by a neurologist or other well trained physician. Witnessing an episode can be helpful for the provider but is not required to make a proper differential diagnosis.

Treatment

Electroconvulsive therapy has been reported to help.<ref>Hategan A, Bourgeois JA. Compulsive shouting (klazomania) responsive to electroconvulsive therapy. Psychosomatics. 2013 Jul-Aug;54(4):402-3. doi: 10.1016/j.psym.2012.11.004. PMID: 23866075.</ref>
