Susquehanna County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,434. The county seat is Montrose. The county was created on February 21, 1810, from part of Luzerne County and named for the Susquehanna River.
Geography[edit]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 832 square miles (2,150 km²), of which 823 square miles (2,130 km²) is land and 9.3 square miles (24 km²) (1.1%) is water.

Demographics[edit]
As of the 2020 census, there were 38,434 people, 15,000 households, and 10,000 families residing in the county. The population density was 47 people per square mile (18/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 97.2% White, 0.8% Black or African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.4% Asian, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.5% of the population.

Susquehanna County is governed by a three-member Board of Commissioners. The county is part of Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district.
