DuBois is a city located in Clearfield County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is part of the DuBois, Pennsylvania Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History[edit]
DuBois was settled in 1812 and was incorporated as a borough in 1881. It was named after John DuBois, a local lumber magnate. The city grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to the booming lumber industry and the arrival of the railroad.
Geography[edit]
DuBois is situated in the Allegheny Plateau region of Pennsylvania. The city covers a total area of 3.2 square miles, all of which is land. It is located approximately 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
