Radnor Township, Pennsylvania
Radnor Township is a township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located approximately 13 miles west of Philadelphia. Radnor Township is part of the Main Line, a series of affluent suburban communities located along the former Pennsylvania Railroad main line.
History
Radnor Township was founded in 1682 as part of the Welsh Tract, a land grant given to Welsh Quakers by William Penn. The township was named after Radnorshire, a county in Wales. The area developed slowly until the arrival of the Pennsylvania Railroad in the 19th century, which spurred significant growth and development.
Geography
Radnor Township covers an area of approximately 13.8 square miles. It is bordered by Tredyffrin Township to the west, Lower Merion Township to the east, and Haverford Township to the south. The township is characterized by rolling hills, wooded areas, and residential neighborhoods.
Demographics
As of the 2020 census, Radnor Township had a population of approximately 31,875 residents. The township is known for its high median household income and well-educated population. The racial makeup of the township is predominantly White, with smaller percentages of African American, Asian, and other racial groups.

Radnor Township is served by the Radnor Township School District, which includes Radnor High School, Radnor Middle School, and several elementary schools. The township is also home to several private schools and higher education institutions, including Villanova University and Cabrini University.

The economy of Radnor Township is diverse, with a mix of residential, commercial, and institutional uses. The township is home to several corporate headquarters, including Lincoln Financial Group and Brandywine Realty Trust.
