Wayne County, Pennsylvania is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 51,155. The county seat is Honesdale. The county was created on March 21, 1798, from part of Northampton County and was named in honor of Anthony Wayne, a United States Army officer and statesman.
Geography[edit]
Wayne County is situated in the northeastern region of Pennsylvania and is part of the Pocono Mountains region. The county has a total area of 751 square miles, of which 726 square miles is land and 25 square miles is water. The county is characterized by its rolling hills, forests, and numerous lakes and rivers, including the Delaware River which forms its eastern border.
