Prolia is used to increase bone mass in certain patients with breast or prostate cancer who are at high risk of fractures. It is also used to treat osteoporosis in certain patients who are at high risk of breaking bones. Prolia attaches to a protein called RANKL, which prevents RANKL from attaching to another protein called RANK on the surface of certain bone cells. This can help prevent bone loss. Prolia is a type of monoclonal antibody
