cystitis - (pronounced) (sis-TY-tis) Inflammation of the lining of the bladder. Symptoms include pain and a burning sensation when urinating, blood in the urine, dark or cloudy urine, feeling like you need to urinate often or immediately, inability to control the flow of urine, and pelvic or lower back pain. Cystitis is most often caused by an infection, but it can also be caused by taking certain medications (such as bladder for a long time). It can also be caused by other conditions, such as diabetes, kidney stones, an enlarged prostate, or a spinal cord injury
