Metabotropic glutamate receptor 1

Metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 (mGluR1) is a type of metabotropic glutamate receptor that plays a crucial role in the central nervous system. It is a G protein-coupled receptor that responds to the neurotransmitter glutamate.

Structure

The mGluR1 receptor is a large protein complex composed of multiple subunits. The primary structure of the receptor includes a seven-transmembrane domain, which is characteristic of G protein-coupled receptors. Function

The mGluR1 receptor is primarily found in the neurons of the central nervous system.
