Vitamin E - (pronounced) (VY-tuh-min. . . ) nutrient that the body needs in small amounts to stay healthy and function as it should. It is fat-soluble (can dissolve in fats and oils) and is found in seeds, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and vegetable oils. Vitamin E boosts the immune system and helps prevent blood clots from forming. It also helps prevent cell damage from free radicals (highly reactive chemicals). Vitamin E is being studied to prevent and treat some types of cancer. It's kind of an antioxidant. Also called alpha tocopherol
