California Institute of Technology
California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is a private research university located in Pasadena, California, United States. Known for its strong emphasis on science and engineering, Caltech is often ranked as one of the world's top ten universities.
History
Caltech was founded as a preparatory and vocational school by Amos G. Throop in 1891 and became a college in 1910. The school adopted its current name in 1920.
