California State University, Northridge
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is a public university located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. It is part of the California State University (CSU) system, which is one of the largest public university systems in the United States.
History
CSUN was founded in 1958 as the San Fernando Valley campus of Los Angeles State College of Applied Arts and Sciences. In 1962, it became an independent college known as San Fernando Valley State College. The institution was renamed California State University, Northridge in 1972.
Campus
The CSUN campus spans 356 acres and includes a variety of facilities such as the Oviatt Library, the Valley Performing Arts Center, and the Student Recreation Center. The campus is also home to the Botanic Garden and the Donald E. Bianchi Planetarium.

CSUN offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs through its nine colleges:

CSUN has a vibrant student life with over 300 student organizations, including fraternities and sororities, academic clubs, and cultural groups. The university also has a strong athletics program, known as the CSUN Matadors, which competes in the Big West Conference.
