The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is a public land-grant research university located in Davis, California. It is part of the University of California system and is known for its comprehensive research programs, particularly in the fields of agriculture, veterinary medicine, and environmental science.

History[edit]

UC Davis was established in 1905 as the University Farm, an extension of University of California, Berkeley. It became a general campus of the University of California in 1959. The campus has grown significantly over the years, both in terms of student population and academic offerings.
