Overview[edit]
Caprese Snack is a classic Italian appetizer that celebrates the simple yet delicious combination of tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. This keto-friendly version maintains the core ingredients and adds a balsamic reduction for an extra flavor punch.
Ingredients[edit]
- 2 large Tomatoes, sliced
- 200g fresh Mozzarella, sliced
- A handful of fresh Basil leaves
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation[edit]
- 1. Arrange slices of tomato and mozzarella alternately on a plate.
- 2. Place a basil leaf on each slice of mozzarella.
- 3. Drizzle with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- 4. In a saucepan, heat balsamic vinegar over medium heat until it reduces to a thick syrup. Drizzle over the caprese snack.
Serving Suggestions[edit]
- Serve as an appetizer or a refreshing snack.
- Pair with keto bread or keto bagels for a more filling meal.
