Sesame salt (recipe) is a keto friendly food item with net carbohydrates of about 3-5 per serving.

Recipe instructions

  1. Put sesame seeds and salt on a small, heavy, dry skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook, stirring constistently for 3 minutes, or until both salt and seeds are lightly browned and fragrant, and a seed or 2 start to\pop\.
  3. The sea salt may look more gray than browned.
  4. Remove from heat and grind to a fairly fine powder in a blender, food processor, or spice grinder; morter and pestle also work, though be sure to grind to a powder like consistency.
  5. Store in an airtight jar.
