Overview[edit]
Greek Salad or Horiatiki is a traditional Greek dish made of fresh vegetables, olives, and feta cheese. It's a staple in Greek cuisine and is known for its refreshing taste and nutritional benefits.
Ingredients[edit]
- 2 large Tomatoes, cut into wedges
- 1 Cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 red Onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives
- 200g Feta cheese, cut into thick slices or crumbled
- 2-3 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation[edit]
- 1. In a large bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber, and onions.
- 2. Add Kalamata olives to the mix.
- 3. Drizzle olive oil over the salad.
- 4. Sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to combine.
- 5. Top with feta cheese.
- 6. Serve immediately, preferably chilled.
Nutritional Value[edit]

Variations[edit]
- Some versions might include green bell peppers or capers.
- A splash of red wine vinegar can add some tanginess.
Pairing[edit]
- Goes well with grilled meats, especially lamb or chicken.
