Smoked Turkey is a flavorful and tender preparation of turkey, smoked over wood chips to impart a distinct smoky flavor.

Ingredients[edit]

  • 1 whole turkey (10-15 lbs)
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 cups wood chips (like applewood or hickory), soaked in water for 30 minutes

Preparation[edit]

  • 1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (110°C).
  • 2. Clean the turkey and remove any giblets.
  • 3. Mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder together.
  • 4. Rub the spice mixture all over the turkey.
  • 5. Place the turkey in the smoker and add the soaked wood chips.
  • 6. Smoke the turkey for about 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • 7. Remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.

  • Serve with keto-friendly sides like roasted vegetables, mashed cauliflower, or a fresh salad.
