Keto Falafels are a low-carb take on the classic Middle Eastern dish. Made without chickpeas, these falafels still deliver a crunchy exterior and flavorful interior, perfect for dipping or enjoying in a keto-friendly wrap.

Ingredients[edit]

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water or as needed
  • Coconut oil or olive oil for frying

Preparation[edit]

  • 1. In a food processor, combine almond flour, flaxseed meal, herbs, garlic, and spices. Blend until you achieve a coarse mixture.
  • 2. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture holds together.
  • 3. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties.
  • 4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry falafels until they are golden brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • 5. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Serving Suggestions[edit]

  • Serve with a side of Tahini or keto-friendly tzatziki sauce.
  • Include them in a keto salad or wrap with low-carb tortillas.
