History

Coca-Cola Amatil was originally founded in 1904 as the British Tobacco Company (Australia) Limited. Over the years, the company diversified its operations and entered the beverage industry. In 1964, the company was renamed Allied Manufacturing and Trade Industries Limited (AMATIL). In 1977, the company acquired the Coca-Cola bottling franchise and subsequently changed its name to Coca-Cola Amatil.
