The Justice League is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team was conceived by writer Gardner Fox and first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #28 (March 1960). The Justice League is an assemblage of superheroes who join together as a team to combat threats that are beyond the capabilities of individual members.
History[edit]
The original Justice League lineup consisted of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Over the years, the roster has expanded to include numerous other superheroes from the DC Universe, such as Green Arrow, Black Canary, Atom, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, and Cyborg.
Headquarters[edit]
The Justice League has had several headquarters over the years. Initially, they operated from a secret cave outside Happy Harbor, Rhode Island. Later, they moved to the Hall of Justice in Washington, D.C., and subsequently to the Watchtower, a satellite orbiting Earth.
Notable Storylines[edit]
Some of the most notable storylines involving the Justice League include:
- Crisis on Infinite Earths
- Infinite Crisis
- Final Crisis
- Justice League: The New Frontier
- Justice League: Tower of Babel
Adaptations[edit]
The Justice League has been adapted into various media, including animated television series such as Super Friends, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. They have also appeared in live-action films, most notably in Justice League (2017) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021).
